Community Health Coach to start work in Forest Heath
February 17th, 2015We are delighted to announce that we will soon be delivering support to help people stop smoking, eat healthier and be more active in the Forest Health area of Suffolk.
Toby Turner has been appointed as Community Health Coach for the area and will start providing healthy lifestyle support in March. Suffolk County Council is funding the one year pilot project, which we bid for in partnership with Forest Heath District Council.
Rather than tackling issues like smoking or obesity in isolation, Toby will be able to provide all-round support to Forest Heath residents. He will be running support sessions to help people stop smoking and organising various six-week physical activity courses that will encourage people to do more physical activity. He will also be running adult weight management courses, to help local people to eat healthier and maintain a healthy weight.
Speaking of his new role, Toby said: “I’m very excited to get started and help people living in Forest Heath to take steps towards a healthier lifestyle. All of the services and support I’ll be providing are completely FREE, and will mainly be run from centres in Newmarket, Brandon and Mildenhall. If you would like support to stop smoking, lose weight, eat healthier or be more active get in touch today to register your interest.”
