Stoptober has ended but help to quit is still available in Haverhill

This year’s national Stoptober challenge might be over but smokers in Haverhill are being reminded that free help to quit is still available in the town.

We run stop smoking clinics in Haverhill every Monday for those who feel they need extra support as they try and kick the habit. The one-to-one clinics take place at the David Holland Pharmacy on Norton Road from 2.00pm - 4.45pm and are led by Aoife McCarthy, one of our trained stop smoking advisors.

We are also encouraging smokers to quit now to enjoy the benefits of being smoke-free and healthier before Christmas. Quitting could also provide smokers with a welcome boost to their wallets during the festive season – someone who smokes an average of 20-a-day could save over £400 before the big day.

Aoife said: “We know how difficult it is to give up smoking but I’m in Haverhill every Monday to give smokers the practical support and encouragement they need. I can help advise people about the best method of quitting for them, offer advice on the best Nicotine Replacement Therapy and help them to cut down their tobacco consumption before they quit altogether.

“There are also lots of tips I can share to help smokers manage cravings when they come calling and offer friendly words of encouragement during the highs and lows of their quit journey. Not many smokers realise, but they’re actually four times more likely to quit successfully with support from Live Well Suffolk than they are if they tried it on their own.”

For more information or to book an appointment with Aoife call us on 01473 229292.
